The Environment Management Centre (EMC) of the Indian Chamber of Commerce is working towards the compilation of quality essay type articles on local environmental issues. The articles will be put up on the website of the EMC with due acknowledgement to the author. The best articles will also be published in the quarterly newsletter of EMC known as ‘Environment Watch’.
To start with, articles on the following issues are invited:
· Water pollution in river Hooghly ;
· Air pollution in the metropolis of Calcutta ;
· The East Calcutta Wetlands as a pollution sink ;
· The problem of hazardous waste disposal being faced by industries of the region.
